DAY LXXXI

At 203 pounds today, I’m pretty pissed off. Yesterday I took a day off from running and had ONE extra bowl of Cheerios — it wasn’t even Cap’n Crunch or Cocoa Puffs — and the scale told me I was up THREE POUNDS over yesterday. One day and one bowl of Cheerios has cut my two-week weight loss in half! Both my morning and my after-work weigh-ins showed a three pound increase. In fact, the after-work weigh-in pegs at 204.4 pounds!

Yes, I know a two to three pound swing can simply be water or something, and is within the normal fluctuation range, but seriously, ONE bowl of Cheerios undercuts two weeks of almost nothing but celery and carrots? That ain’t fair!

Only one Coca Cola today… but I’m not running. I’m going through a what’s-the-effing-point pouting phase.

DAY LXVIII

Thursday. One week into the New Year of 2015.

Weight: a crushing 14 stone 10 pounds.

Stomach circumference (relaxed): 41 inches.

I was going to write more about this, but… I’m tired.

14 Stone 10 Pounds A new personal high!

A new personal high!

Oh, we went down town to look at new cars today. We looked at the Subaru Forester, the Ford Escape, and the Mitsubishi Outlander. Despite the insanely cool TV commercial for the Outlander, it is the first vehicle to be crossed off the list of contenders. So far, the Forester is the best bet by a long shot.

DAY SEVENTY-TWO: (R)October Break

Saturday, 4 October 2014. First day of Fall intersession break from work.

Weight: 200.0 pounds

Credit Card Debt: $21,835.00

What can I do this week to address these concerns?

First step… well, okay, second step. The first step was to pay my credit card accounts that were due – mostly the minimum payment, o’ course. The second step is to get out for a long walk. My distance goal is 10 miles today. I’m going to try to hike up Long Road aka Mokuleia Access Road. Long Road is part of the Peacock 100 trail run route. I was hoping to participate in the Peacock 100 this year. Instead, I got lazy, stopped running, and gained back 40 of the 35 pounds I lost last year.

Exactly one year and one day ago, 3 October 2013, I was at my lowest weight in years, 11 stone 7 pounds, or 161 pounds. Then, on Friday 4 October I set out on a week-long road trip through Colorado and New Mexico with my friend Roger. I set my diet and exercise plan aside and lost all momentum. I only gained a pound while on the trip, but that was in contrast to the two or three pounds a week I had been consistently losing since the previous mid-June. A week after my return I had gained four more pounds. I made a couple of half-hearted efforts to get back on track between November and January, but it didn’t happen. By the end of January I was up to 12-1/2 stone, and here I am today with the morning scale reading exactly 200 pounds, or 14 stone 4 pounds.

My credit cards are all maxxed out. I have three dollars remaining in my bank account. I weigh 200 pounds (BMI: 27.9 ). I’m fat and broke. What a way to start a vacation.

I’m gonna go fill up a water bottle and hit the pavement now.

DAY FIFTY-ONE: Recap Fail

Today is supposed to be a halfway point recap on the progress I’ve made toward my “100 Days” goals. Now what were those goals again? Ever since I came down with this cold at least thirteen days ago I’ve felt too congested, woozy, and lethargic to do anything. I’m still not feeling much better – slightly less sinus congestion at this point, but the cough is lingering and I have zero energy or enthusiasm to do anything, including writing the recap I wanted to write.

I weighed myself today. 194.8 pounds. Stomach circumference is 38-1/2 inches relaxed, 37-1/2 inches pulled in.
